During the Pakistan, sports haven’t been given the appeal it deserve (Fatima, 2011), and for certain, he’s still experienced a keen extracurricular craft otherwise interest. Recreations research was a vast profession, but in Pakistan, it is not come considering the genuine definition (Yasmeen, 1997). Based on Fatima (2011), into the Pakistan, the topic is known as a waste of go out, and those who prefer it are ridiculed. There is certainly a lack of understanding of the importance, criteria, and you can extent off PE for the Pakistan, even with its likely self-confident contribution to many societal circumstances. Once the good health features a wholesome brain, that really really helps to remain healthy (Kamal and you can Khan, 2014), football could potentially raise mental conclusion. This papers starts with an introduction to sporting events and you may Islam when you look at the general as well as in brand new Pakistani context in particular. The focus next shifts to the current situation away from PE as the an educational subject in the Pakistan. This will be followed by a look at the relevant books one has utilized the fresh new SCSRFQ, following, brand new methods and conclusions was discussed.

In line with the intent behind the analysis, a-two-area survey was made according to the prior literary works (Qureshi and you may Ghouri, 2011; Mirsafian, 2014; Mirsafian et al., 2014; Zvan ainsi que al., 2017; Laar ainsi que al., 2019a). The original area questioned records- and recreations-related recommendations regarding players; the following region managed their Islamic beliefs by using the SCSRFQ, that is based on a great Likert size (Jackson, 1983; Henderson ainsi que al., 1988; Sherman ainsi que al., 2001; Plante, 2010; Dianni et al., 2014; Laar mais aussi al., 2019a) ranging from (1) strongly disagree so you’re able to (4) firmly agree. The questionnaire was designed regarding English vocabulary, which is the 2nd most frequently spoken language plus the certified code regarding Pakistan. In the current analysis, the quality process of developing and you can starting the latest psychometric features from the shape try used. This type of steps are usually readily available for balances, especially for the development of religious and you can/or religious (R/S) balances. Brand new article authors recognize that they are not measure psychometrics or interpretation advantages (subscribers , and you will Koenig and you can Al Zaben, 2021 to possess a very for the-depth malfunction and you can definition).

Sporting events Contribution

The main objective of the current study is to assess the impact of religious beliefs on sports participation among Pakistani women from the theoretical perspective of feminism in sports and using the SCSRFQ. According to the results shown in Table 6, individuals‘ religious beliefs do not have any negative impact on Pakistani women’s participation in sports. The correlation of the variables related to the religious believes and not practicing sports is significantly low. These results were unexpected and surprising (alternative hypothesis Ha). Because much of the previous literature (e.g., Haley et al., 2001; Fitzgibbons, 2015) claims that religion can reduce sports participation, especially among women. These results make this study relevant and unique in the field of measuring the religious believes and sports participation especial in Pakistani women context. However, there are some exceptional studies that highlight that religion (mainly Islam) does not prevent women’s participation in sports (Miles and Benn, 2016; Oates, 2016; Laar et al., 2019b). In addition, Miles and Benn (2016) note that any reduction is not a consequence of religion per se but of the conflict between the cultural requirements of Islamic and Western sports-related environments, such as the wearing of sporting clothes and the intermingling of the sexes during sports participation. However, very few participants in this study (14 out of 357, 3.9%) thought religion was an obstacle to their sports participation, whereas 82 participants (23%) suggested that controlling religious and cultural limitations could enhance women’s sports participation. This study was based on women in only one province of Pakistan; thus, there might be a difference of opinion if men in Pakistani society are surveyed. However, our study focused only on women’s religious beliefs and the impact of their beliefs on their sports participation. The majority of the participants had religious beliefs, but according to the participants of this study, these religious beliefs did not reject women’s sports participation in Pakistan.
